First Camping Trip

On Memorial Weekend, we decided to pretty much invite ourselves to the George's camping trip for a night.  Luckily, they were gracious enough to accept our invitation and we joined them on Friday night for McKenzie's first camping trip.  It was... fun? brutal? exciting? crazy?  I can't find just the right word.  We had a great time grilling hot dogs and letting the kids run around like crazy on Friday evening.  Finally, by 9:00pm, they all settled into bed and the adults enjoyed great conversation around the campfire.  If only the story ended there and began again the next morning.  Instead, it began again at 3:00AM!!!  McKenzie woke up and was extremely fussy and whiny.  She wasn't hurting, hungry, thirsty, hot, cold, nothing.  I think she was just out of sorts.  I, on the other hand, was annoyed.  So at 3:30am, McKenzie and I headed home and went back to sleep in our own bed.  We got back out to the campsite the next morning, just in time for breakfast.   Speaking of breakfast, there was no French toast that had been promised to us.  What's up with that George's?  Anyway, we spent a few hours at the park and came home just in time for McKenzie to take a four hour nap.  Overall, it wasn't a total loss and I think we might actually try again soon.

Hydrating for evening activities

The kids love me!

High-tech camping... watching DVDs in the tent!

Not my kids, but I love this picture

First of all, you didn't invite yourselves, we invited you! We were very glad you came for the short amount of time you were there. To set the record straight about the french toast, if you recall, it was your husband that wanted EGGS instead. Blame him! ha If you could have roughed it one more day you would have had french toast like we did! LOL Love, The Georges! P.S. My kids do LOVE you.
