McKenzie's First Birthday

I finally had some time to look through McKenzie's birthday footage. And what's more, I had time to actually create a video! This is my first attempt at creating a video with iMovie so it's a little rough. But I was able to fade some music in and out at the right time and add a few transitions, so I'm pretty proud of it! Hope you enjoy!

Brant and McKenzie enjoyed some ice cream together. She thought she would help him pick her bite...

Open wide!!

If you look close, you can see her excited eyes in this last pic. It was hard to capture, but she opened her eyes wide each time she took a bite!

Hmmmm...

It seems like I've been taking less pictures these days, but I'm working on it. The problem is that McKenzie runs towards me now when the camera comes out, so I can't ever get a picture of anything but her nose in the camera! I did capture this one the other day.
The look on McKenzie's face is just funny to me. If you look closer, you can see some sample tiles in the background. We have just started the process of renovating our kitchen. The new floors are in now and hopefully the granite will be in by the end of the month. That's all good news.

The bad news is that McKenzie is sick right now. She's got a runny nose, but no fever. We'll probably head to the doctor on Monday. But I have to hand it to her, she's still been pretty upbeat all weekend. Such a trooper!

Hot Days = Lake Time!

We headed down to Hot Springs last weekend to spend some time at the lake with my parents. McKenzie had a great time! She went on two boat rides and loved it. We would have been on the boat more, but her life jacket did not fit well. I bought one for kids under 30lbs, but of course left that one at home.

As I was cleaning up after dinner, McKenzie decided to climb up on the dishwasher. We didn't place her there. She got up there on her own and decided to have a seat. At first, I yelled at Brant to come get her. But I quickly followed with "Get the camera, first!"
