You Fat!
I'm walking to class today and one of my students says "You fat, Mrs. Owens! And I mean that in the nicest way possible." I did the only thing I could do... laugh.

Nursery Stuff
The fabric has been chosen! Erin and I went looking for fabric last week and we found the fabric below at the first place we tried. I LOVE it! It's bright and cute, but not too girly. And I think it will look great with the prints I bought. It will be used for one side of the bumpers and I will be using another softer fabric for the inside of the bumpers. That fabric is solid and I gave it the name "raspberry." Yeah, it's pretty much really dark pink. Anyway, I can't wait for this fabric to get in so my bedding can get started.
Another piece that will go in the nursey is this adorable little school desk. My mom has had it for years and I knew I wanted it as soon as I got preggers. It was white and kind of dingy, but now it's fabulous. I plan to stencil McKenzie's name on it in a sky blue color. Could this addition to the nursery be any more perfect for the daughter of a teacher?!

Nursery Preparation
Last weekend Brant and I got the nursery almost completely cleared out. The major task was moving the elliptical machine and rearranging the office in order to put the elliptical in there. In a matter of just about an hour, we had accomplished our goal. And by we, I mostly mean Brant. At one point, as "we" were moving the elliptical I asked "Am I really doing anything?" Brant answered, "Well, you're making that noise." That noise was a mixture of sounds I apparently make when I think Brant is being a little less than careful. Go team!
Anyway, we now have a clean slate to start the nursery. I haven't chosen paint colors just yet. I'm working with Erin (Brant's fabulous sister who is an interior designer) to pick out fabrics and then we'll move on to paint. I do have an inspiration piece. Pieces, actually. Below are the prints I bought to get the room started. I plan to frame them in simple, white frames. As you can see, my color options based on these prints are pretty broad. And look, there's even some pink in there!!
