For those wondering, Annie is sound asleep in her room. I DO NOT wake up sleeping babies. |
Last Saturday, we had everyone over for some Easter fun. Jill began what we hope to be a tradition last year with an Easter egg hunt and dinner at her house. We all had so much fun that it was decided we needed to do it every year. I really hope we keep this tradition up because it will be fun to see how the kids change and grow from year to year.
This year with ten adults and ten kids (all under the age of six), chaos ensued. I think almost every kid cried at least once during the night. Lucy might have left without tears, but she tumbled down the stairs off the deck. Sounds bad, but really it was just two steps. Kind of a crybaby if you ask me. And Jill, you must know I'm joking because I still feel quite terrible that it happened! Despite the tears, I think the kids still had a great time. The egg hunt was quick, but the spoils were enjoyed all night long. The spoon race got everyone excited, although I think the results are still being disputed. However, my favorite memory of the night would have to be the look on Jennifer's face as we both turned to run towards the cars parked on the street during the adult egg hunt. It was pure determination. And hilarious! As I think back over the evening, it's mostly a blur of responding to requests from kids and interrupted conversations, but oh well. Such is life these days and I'm happy to be living it with these great people! After all the candy and cookies, I sure hope everyone had tired babies who were ready for bed when they got home.
