Caterpillar Head

I can't even count how many nicknames we have for McKenzie. It's a wonder she knows her actual name, because our nicknames have nothing to do with her name. For the sake of memories, I wanted to blog a few of our current names: Toot Bomb (coined by her granddaddy Carter), Puddin' Pop, Pooter Roo, Baby Girl, Pumpkin Head, Little Turkey and a slew of others that pop up depending on what she's wearing (ie Caterpillar Head) or doing at the time (ie Stink Butt). When she's sixteen and her friends somehow find this blog, she will definitely hate me!

Curious

Now that she's crawling full steam ahead, McKenzie can actually reach the things she is curious about. In this case, it was the camera strap and I was able to snap a pic of her "what the heck is this?!" face.

Sing Us a Song...

Well, she's not the piano man but she sure loves this new toy. A friend of mine gave this to us because her boys are too old for it now. McKenzie has a great time with this thing. She bangs the keys and then "dances." Her dance consists of shaking her head back and forth and randomly swinging one arm (just one arm) to her side. She has my rhythm and moves, which is unfortunate but quite hilarious.

McKenzie had her nine month check-up earlier this month.
Weight: 17lbs, 11oz (25th percentile)
Length: 28.5in (77th percentile)

The doc said she was completely healthy and gave us the all clear to start almost all table food. It's so liberating to not have to spoon feed her anymore. And it's also quite fun to watch her try new foods. In the pic below, she was loving some black beans!

Bubble Wig

McKenzie's hair is growing in very, very slowly. Assuming she grows it in white, thick and bubbly, this gives you a good idea of what it will look like.

Just Curious

She is so curious about everything around her. Just the other day, she crawled over to her toys and for the first time, got up on her knees to check things out. A few days later I went to check on her as she napped and this is what I saw:
