Somebunny Wanted Another Easter Post

This is the last of the Easter pictures, I promise.  But I went back through pictures that Kelly took during our Easter party and I just had to post a few.

What's New...

McKenzie is officially potty-trained!!  I'm sure since I've written that, she will now have an accident this evening but oh well.  There will certainly be accidents to come, but for the most part, she's done with diapers and on to underwear.  It started last Friday when she asked to wear panties after using the potty.  We've gone through this a few times so I really wasn't expecting much.  But since that time, she's been out to dinner, to church, to the zoo and to school with no diapers in sight.  We had a close call at the zoo, but with Jennifer's help of yelling "SHE'S SQUATTING!" an accident was avoided.  And finally tonight, the moment I've been waiting for, she told us that she had to pee (as opposed to us making her get on the potty and try) and then proceeded to do her business in the bathroom.  VICTORY!  While some milestones make me a little sad because it means she's growing up, this one makes me completely happy.

He is Risen Indeed!

What a great Easter!  We managed to make it to church on time, with the girls dressed in their Easter best.  McKenzie even agreed to wear a bow!  Because it did take so much effort, I was still a little flustered during the church service and found it difficult to pay attention.  Luckily, I stayed to teach during the second service and the kid's lesson actually sunk in with me.  Basically, the kids were challenged to trust in God based on all of the promises He fulfilled in the New Testament.  If He fulfilled every promise so far, then why is it so hard to believe that He will fulfill His one remaining promise of eternal life?  Yes, a little elementary, but it really struck me this morning.  Happy Easter to all!

The Big Hunt

For those wondering, Annie is sound asleep in her room.  I DO NOT wake up sleeping babies.
Last Saturday, we had everyone over for some Easter fun.  Jill began what we hope to be a tradition last year with an Easter egg hunt and dinner at her house.  We all had so much fun that it was decided we needed to do it every year.  I really hope we keep this tradition up because it will be fun to see how the kids change and grow from year to year.

This year with ten adults and ten kids (all under the age of six), chaos ensued.  I think almost every kid cried at least once during the night.  Lucy might have left without tears, but she tumbled down the stairs off the deck.  Sounds bad, but really it was just two steps.  Kind of a crybaby if you ask me.  And Jill, you must know I'm joking because I still feel quite terrible that it happened!  Despite the tears, I think the kids still had a great time.  The egg hunt was quick, but the spoils were enjoyed all night long.  The spoon race got everyone excited, although I think the results are still being disputed.  However, my favorite memory of the night would have to be the look on Jennifer's face as we both turned to run towards the cars parked on the street during the adult egg hunt.  It was pure determination.  And hilarious!  As I think back over the evening, it's mostly a blur of responding to requests from kids and interrupted conversations, but oh well.  Such is life these days and I'm happy to be living it with these great people!  After all the candy and cookies, I sure hope everyone had tired babies who were ready for bed when they got home.
